When I tell people about tuaregs.ai, the first question is almost always: "Why that name?"

Fair question. It's not exactly obvious what an AI platform has to do with... well, whatever a "tuareg" is supposed to be.

The answer is simpler than you might think, but let me start with what really matters.

The Philosophy

Everything I do at tuaregs.ai comes down to three core beliefs that drive every decision I make:

Technology must help people, not the other way around

I'm tired of tools that force you to adapt to their complexity. Every week there's a new AI interface to learn, a new workflow to memorize, a new subscription to manage. You end up spending more time figuring out the tool than actually building with it.

This is backwards. When I need to estimate GPU requirements for a model, I shouldn't have to dig through scattered documentation, forum posts, and conflicting advice. The tool should give me a clear answer so I can get back to building.

Close the gap between people and technology

The best tools disappear into the background. They make complex things simple, not simple things complex.

Right now, there's a massive gap between AI capability and AI accessibility. You can build incredible things with AI, but only if you can navigate the maze of models, hardware requirements, deployment options, and constantly changing best practices. That gap shouldn't exist.

Cut through the noise

The AI space is drowning in hype. Every day there's a new "revolutionary" model, a new "game-changing" approach, a new tutorial that promises to make you an AI expert in 10 minutes.

Most of it is noise. What I care about is what actually works, what's practical, and what helps you ship real products. I'd rather give you one reliable tool than ten flashy demos.

My Vision

I want tuaregs.ai to become your AI pal. Kinda of a tutor. The site you bookmark and return to when you need reliable information, practical tools, and honest guidance.

Not the place with the flashiest marketing or the boldest claims. The place with the tools that actually work and the advice you can trust. We are talking about the long run game here.

When you're trying to figure out what GPU you need, or comparing model performance, or planning your AI implementation - I want this to be where you come first.

Success for me isn't millions of users. It's being genuinely useful to the people who are serious about building with AI.

Building and Teaching & Learning in the Open

I'm committed to radical transparency, inspired by companies like Buffer with an amazing approach. You'll see my journey, my struggles, the wins, and the failures.

But it's more than just sharing the business side. I'll be building apps, experimenting with AI implementations, and sharing everything I learn along the way. The knowledge from that journey becomes content for tuaregs - guides, tutorials, cheat sheets, videos, and practical resources that actually help you build.

This blog isn't marketing content. It's documentation of what we're building, why we're building it, and what we're learning along the way. I'll share revenue numbers, user feedback, development challenges, and strategic decisions.

Including documenting my path from 0 to $1000 MRR by the end of the year. More on that challenge in my next post ;)

The Name (The Real Story)

Now, about that name.

Years ago in college, my friends and I had this inside joke. I don't even remember the reason... it was something random, like a book, but "tuaregs nomads" became our thing. Just one of those nonsense jokes that stuck around our group for no particular reason.

When I co-founded my first company, we called it nomid: another variation of that same college humor. When that didn't work out and I started thinking about this new project, "tuaregs" felt right.

There's no deep metaphor about desert navigation or nomadic wisdom. It's just a name that makes me smile and connects back to those college days when everything felt possible.

Sometimes that's enough.

What's Next

This is the beginning of documenting everything. The building process, the challenges, the small wins, and hopefully the bigger ones too.
